Clarification on face coverings guidance and how to report if you need to self-isolate

The health and wellbeing of our students and staff is of paramount importance. That's why we've brought together all of our Covid-19-related health and safety information and guidelines into a single place on Your DMU Safety.

Please make sure you read and follow all of the guidance and support on Your DMU Safety and check back regularly for updates. We will continue to closely follow and implement UK Government, Public Health England (PHE) and local authority guidelines.

We’ll be issuing daily reminders via email and other internal and social media channels on our health and safety measures so please keep a look out for these communications. Here are some key recent updates to note and follow:

Face coverings

We require all staff, students and visitors to wear a face covering in all teaching spaces no matter the layout unless there is a legitimate medical or personal reason for exemption.

We also expect them to be worn when you move around buildings or use common spaces.

How to report if you need to self-isolate

If students need to self-isolate it is important they let the university know they will be unable to attend lectures and seminars for the duration of their self-isolation period.

They can do this by contacting their faculty Student Advice Centre (SAC) as soon as they are able to. SACs will record these cases on a central spreadsheet so we can provide support and/or contact the students where needed.

How DMU will communicate

To give staff and students the latest picture on positive cases at DMU we have created this Updates on confirmed cases at DMU webpage which will be amended on a regular basis.
