Our ceremonies will take place from Monday 22 to Saturday 27 August. Invitations will be emailed to both your DMU alumni email address and any personal email address you registered on the university’s student record system. If you think you should have received an invite but haven’t, please check your junk mail. 

For students who have booked their place, please see further details for how to prepare for the August ceremonies.

August ceremonies

Our August ceremonies will take place for the Class of January 2021 and Class of Summer 2022.

Class of 2021

Students who would have attended the ceremonies of January 2021 which were postponed due to Covid.  Note, ceremony timings for Class of January 2021 may be subject to change, see Preparing for Your Graduation.

Class of 2022

Students who have successfully passed all elements of their course between the dates 27 November 2021 and 1 July 2022. These are strict deadlines and any student who passes after this date will be eligible to attend the graduation ceremonies in Winter 2023.


Students are allocated to their ceremony based on their completed course and date of completion and cannot move to a different ceremony date

If you are entitled to receive two separate awards and attend two separate ceremonies, please get in touch with us by email at or by phone on +44 (0)116 257 7307 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) so that your booking can be processed correctly. 

Key dates 

  1. Graduation tickets

    Our ceremonies are very popular and have firm booking deadlines, so make sure your place is booked via our online booking system.

    Registration opens on 26 April at 12 noon and closes on 8 June at 5pm. You must book your place at your graduation ceremony by this deadline. If you are not attending your graduation ceremony, you still need to confirm this.

    You can buy up to two guest tickets from DMU before this deadline. We are unable to accept bookings after 8 June at 5pm.

  2. Gown hire and photography

    All students must book their gown hire, and any pre-booked photography if they choose, by 12 August at 5pm.

  3. Spare tickets

    Any spare tickets will go on sale direct from the Curve Box Office from the following dates:

    • For Class of January 2021 (ceremonies on Thursday 25 August): 27 June at 10am onwards
    • For Class of Summer 2022 (ceremonies who've passed their course between 27 November 2021 and 1st July 2022): 25 July at 10am onwards

Degree certificates

With the exception of the Class of January 2021 students attending for the re-arranged ceremonies from January 2021, certificates will be issued to students at the ceremonies in August.  

Certificates not issued at ceremonies will be posted to the permanent address that is registered with us on the student record system.

If you no longer have access to your address details via MyDMU and believe your permanent address has changed, please email stating your name, course and P number.

Please note that certificate collection in person is not available.
