Graduation ceremonies

Eligible students will receive an email invitation from Academic Awards on 27 April, which is sent to your DMU and alumni email address and any personal email address you registered on the university’s student record system. Student bookings for September 2026 graduation ceremonies will close on 5 June at 5pm.

If you haven’t received an invite and have checked your junk mail, contact the graduation team by email at academicawards@dmu.ac.uk.

When you receive the email invitation, you will need your student ID, or P number, to book your place on the system. When entering your P number, remove the 'P' and just enter the number.

The ceremonies are for students who have passed ALL elements of their course between the dates of 29 November and 17 July 2026, confirmed at DMU Assessment Boards. Please note that graduation booking will close on 5 June at 5pm so if you expect to pass still book your graduation place and guest tickets, your booking, you can always cancel the booking later. These are strict deadlines; any student who passes after 17 July 2026, will be invited to our winter ceremonies in 2027. This also includes where reassessed work has been submitted but not finalised before 17 July.

Students must pass all of their course between 29 November and 17 July 2026, confirmed at DMU Assessment Boards.

Students who pass after 17 July will attend Winter Graduation ceremonies.

This includes provisional marks not confirmed at DMU Assessment Boards, including partner colleges.

Research degree students must have received notice of their final completion by the Doctoral College by 17 July

The closing date to book your place at the graduation ceremony is 5 June at 5pm. We recommend not leaving your booking to the last minute!

We understand that some students may be unable to meet the cost of robe hire and guest tickets for their guests. The University Graduation Support Fund aims to help students who face financial difficulty in meeting the costs of attending their graduation.

You may be eligible to apply for this fund, an application form and supporting evidence is required.

The Graduation Support Fund graduation support fund will open 12 noon on 27 April and closes on 5 June at 5pm. Applications received after this time will not be accepted

Some ceremonies fill up quickly, so seating might be limited; we strongly advise that you book straight away to avoid disappointment. If after booking you can no longer attend, you can cancel later.

The key dates to remember are:

• Graduation bookings open 12 noon on 27 April 2026 and close on 5 June at 5pm
• Guest ticket bookings open 12 noon on 27 April 2026 for up to two initial guest tickets at £21 each. Guest ticket bookings close on 5 June at 5pm.
• Graduation robe hire opens 12 noon on 27 April 2026 and closes on 21 August at 5pm
• Additional guest tickets – if they are available – will go on sale on the university’s online store on 15 June on a staggered by ceremony basis until 29 June 2026, subject to availability and sold on a first come, first served basis. Please note there is no guarantee that additional tickets will be available
• Surplus tickets
  Any tickets remaining after 29 June can be bought directly from Curve Box Office from 12 noon on 25 August. These tickets will not be seated with any previously bought tickets so please bear this in mind when including guests who need to be accompanied. Curve details are:
