To celebrate this year's International Women's Day (IWD) on Friday 8 March, DMU Women are hosting a series of online and in-person events.

As a part of Women's History Month (taking place from Friday 1 March to Sunday 31 March), IWD celebrates the achievements of women and promotes gender equality. This year's theme is Inspire Inclusion and you can find out more about the campaign here.

Nicky Hudson, Shalini Bisani, and Marie Josee Bisson co-chairs of DMU Women said: "International Women's Day is a really important date in the calendar to celebrate the achievements of women, raise awareness about historic and current issues of gender inequality and promote equality for all.

"We have a vibrant programme of events for IWD this year and we would like to encourage all, including men and non-binary allies, to sign up and attend as many events as possible to show your support.

"Together we can Inspire Inclusion and further advance gender parity."

This year's highlights include Alumni Dr Bijna Kotak Dasani talking about 'smashing the stereotype', a workshop on sustainable fashion, DMU Active yoga session, a relaxing mindfulness meditation session, and a Menopause café and much more.

DMU supports attendance at wellbeing and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion events, so please do take some time out of your working day to come along to an International Women's Day event.
