Stereotypes that women still face include the gender pay gap, caring responsibilities, recruitment, and smashing through the glass ceiling. Alumni Bijna Kotak Dasani MBE, FRSA will explore ‘Smashing Stereotypes’ that hold women back, and will talk from an intersectional perspective of a Black, Asian and ethnically minoritised female who has a hidden disability. Dr Bijna Dasani will be sharing her lived experiences working in male-dominated companies and how she overcame barriers to success.

Dr Bijna Kotak Dasani MBE, FRSA

A reputed banker-turned-venture capitalist and entrepreneur, Dr. Bijna Kotak Dasani MBE, FRSA, has 20+ years of professional experience serving at the World’s most prestigious institutions in the financial services industry, including Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, SSgA, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley, etc.

A strong advocate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, for which she was honoured with an MBE, and also appointed as a member of the United Nations (UN) Women UK delegation, Bijna has been widely recognised and appreciated for her invaluable contribution to empowering women in Business. Besides being the International Women’s Day Young Achiever of the Year (2006), Bijna has more than 15 honours to her credit, including the Asian Women of Achievement Awards (2010), National Diversity Awards (2012) , UK Women of Inspiration Awards (2019), the ‘Woman Leader in Equity and Venture Capital’ (2023) by Global Women Leadership Awards (UAE), ranked as one among ​India’s Rising 50 Dynamic Femina under 50 (2023) and more.
