The benefits to taking part in regular physical activity are numerous. It can boost your mental wellbeing, make you fitter, stronger and reduce stress.

It is an opportunity to connect with others, meet new people and studies have shown that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy.

There are lots of opportunities to be active at DMU on campus:

DMUactive is a daily programme of FREE recreational sports opportunities for students to become physically active alongside their studies. No need to book, just turn up at the session with your student card.

The Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre offers a wide range of fitness classes, a swimming pool, climbing wall and sports hall which enables a variety of activities to take place. You can pay for sessions as you go which gives you the chance to try before you buy!
