We would like to wish all DMU students celebrating Eid a very happy Eid Mubarak.

Eid al-Adha
Also known as the 'Celebration of the Offering’, Eid al-is celebrated on the tenth day of Dhū al-Hijjah, the month of pilgrimage, and is due to take place on Wednesday 27 May, subject to confirmation.
The celebration marks the spiritual journey of Hajj (the Fifth Pillar of Islam) as an act of obedience to God. In view of this, great numbers of Muslims will embark on the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, with those at home taking part in spiritual reflection, prayer, fasting, charitable acts and sharing food.
From the beginning of Dhū al-Hijjah until the ninth day of the month, Muslims may choose to fast. Then on the tenth day, Eid al-Adha begins and friends and family will gather for a big feast which is celebrated for a few days.
Eid Day
Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha by going to the mosque or congregating in open areas for prayers early in the morning. Then it is a time for family and friends to celebrate, by dressing up in smart clothes, enjoying food and exchanging presents.
Imam Mohammed Laher, DMU's Imam and Muslim Chaplain said:
“I would like to wish all students and staff at DMU, Eid Mubarak. This is a happy occasion for friends, family, celebrations and supporting those in need. Please enjoy your celebrations and grant you peace in what you may have planned.”
