DSU's AMMplify festival set to take over campus this May

DSU’s AMMplify festival set to take over campus this May .

De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester’s Student Union is set to take over campus this month for its AMMplify festival, a day full of fun, relaxed activities.

Taking place on Wednesday 20 May down Mill Lane, AMMplify is a nice chance to experience the impact DSU has on campus. It’s also an opportunity to connect with others, and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a celebration of community, creativity, and campus life.

From live music, fairground games, wellness activities, and much more throughout the day.

It’s a free event, just make sure you secure your wristband on the DSU’s website.

What’s on offer?

Kicking off at 10am, the Campus Centre will be hosting a local farmers' market, brimming with handcrafted gifts, tasty lunch-time treats and items you won’t find on the high street.

From 11am, AMMplify presents a wellbeing glass jar and seahsells painting session outside the Vijay Patel Building, followed by an outdoor yoga session, taking place from 1 – 2pm.

At 4.15pm, you will have the chance to hear what the Students’ Union has been up to in the past academic term and share your voice with your elected university leaders.

Finally, the day rounds off with an open-air cinema screening on the grass outside the Vijay Patel. Grab your friends, get a blanket – or a deck chair – and sit back and enjoy.

The movie? Well, that’s a secret…

You can never promise a sunny day in the UK but what we can promise is a great day out, all from the comfort of campus.

More information about each event can be found on the DSU’s website.
