These are the entry requirements for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Entry requirements for Tanzanian students
 Academic qualificationsEnglish Language
Foundation / International Year Zero

Tanzania Secondary School Leaving Certificate or iGCSE, five subjects at Grace C or above (or equivalent qualification)

 

International Year Zero:

Tanzania Secondary School Leaving Certificate with grades A - C

 

For art and design courses, a portfolio of work must be submitted

International Year Zero: Minimum IELTS 4.5 with pre-sessional English

 

DMU foundation courses: IELTS 6.0

 

Tanzania Secondary School Leaving Certificate or iGCSE (Grade C or above) or IELTS 5.0

Undergraduate

Tanzania Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) / National Form VI Examination - Minimum of grade C overall

 

If you have studied Tanzania Secondary School Leaving Certificate or iGCSE and achieved Grade C or above, plus A-levels, foundation or a national diploma, we will consider you for entry onto an undergraduate degree.

 

Advanced entry: We will consider individual applications to enter the second or third year of a degree course. You will need to supply details of the courses you studied, your grades (showing scores), your syllabus and a grading guide. Our course leaders look for a close match between first degree subjects and our own DMU qualifications. If the match is not exact, we will try to be flexible by considering other factors.

 

Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, an audition, or require a student to have a particular qualification.

IELTS 6.0 for Art, Design, Engineering and Computing subjects

 

IELTS 6.5 for Pharmacy, Business, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences and Humanities subjects

 

IELTS 7.5 for Speech and Language Therapy

Postgraduate

A good first degree from a recognised university. Minimum of Lower Class Second. Some courses require an Upper Class Second

 

If you wish to study one of our master’s courses and you have a Third Class degree or are an HND graduate, an International Incorporated Masters is the ideal course to bridge the gap.

 

Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio or work experience, may require you to have a degree in a related field, or may ask for a higher score in your degree
