Sub-Saharan Africa

De Montfort University (DMU) is located in Leicester, which is a very multicultural city. Each year we welcome a growing number of students from Sub-Saharan Africa enriching the already vibrant and welcoming city of Leicester.

Leicester offers everything you expect from a city and more – all on your doorstep. There are great shops, bars and restaurants just a short distance from campus, and Leicester is recognised as a great place to be a student too, with the latest Student Living Index (compiled by NatWest) ranking Leicester in the top 10 ‘student cities’, based on the cost to students of food, rent and fun.

DMU is increasingly becoming the education destination of choice for students from the continent, with a consistent interest in our Engineering, Business and Computing courses. DMU’s award-winning careers and employability service, DMU Works, not only guarantees work experience opportunities, but was also recently awarded a prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Award – known as the ‘Oscars of higher education’ – for Outstanding Support for Students in recognition of an initiative delivered by DMU Works to help students from ethnic minority groups gain job confidence. We work with a number of partner representatives in your country who can help you with your application, the offer process and answer any questions you have about studying and living in the UK.
