Entry requirements for Kenyan students

Undergraduate

If you have studied KCSE or iGCSE and achieved Grade C or above, plus A-levels, foundation or a national diploma, we will consider you for entry onto an undergraduate degree.

 

A Levels - 104 to 136 UCAS points from minimum 2 A Levels (may require certain subject grades)

IB – 24 to 32 points (may require subject grades at HL)

 

Successful completion of Diploma/ Ordinary Diploma/Ordinary Technician Diploma/University Diploma with 55% or above OR High School Diploma with 50% or above or year one of a degree

 

Advanced entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus and a grading guide.

  

If you are unable to enter an undergraduate course directly, you may wish to study an International Incorporate Bachelor's Degree or the International First Year which is offered at Leicester International Pathway College, located on the DMU campus.

 

 

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide an IELTS certificate, or equivalent. Our undergraduate IELTS requirements are:

 

IELTS 6.0 for Art and Design, Business, Computing and Engineering courses

 

IELTS 6.5 for Law courses

 

IELTS 6.0-6.5 for Humanities and Media courses

 

IELTS 6.5-7.5 for Science courses

 

 

Kenyan O'Level English Language at grade C or above 

 

 

 

 

Postgraduate Taught

A good first degree from a recognised university. Minimum of 55%. Some courses require an Upper Class Second

 

 

Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, work experience or require you to have a degree in a related field.

 

 

 

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide an IELTS certificate, or equivalent. Our postgraduate IELTS requirements are:

 

IELTS 6.0 for Business and Computing courses

 

IELTS 6.0-6.5 for Art, Design and Engineering courses

 

IELTS 6.5 for Humanities, Media, Law and Science courses
