De Montfort University Academic Test of English (DATE)

If you have not had time to take an IELTS test but meet our other academic entry requirements, we will be able to test you on the four main areas of English language: listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.

The test lasts for approximately five hours and is a similar format to the other recognised international English tests. The test is free but only available to students applying to De Montfort University and subject to availability in your country.

If we meet you at an exhibition abroad, we will sometimes be able to administer the test but you will also be able to take the test at De Montfort University in the UK. If you have applied and wish to take the test, you should contact us. We will offer the test via our education agents in your country at certain times of the year.

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years of age prior to commencing the test.

DATE tests will be held in the Centre for English Language Learning at 9.30am
