Qualifications needed for undergraduate study

Foundation course for entry onto undergraduate degree programmes at the university.

Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels will be considered for direct admission to our undergraduate degree programmes.

Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications needed for postgraduate (taught) study

A bachelor's degree of science

(Engineering) degree from Kabul University or American University of Afghanistan

2.2 (Hons) equivalent - 60%
2:1 (Hons) equivalent - 70%

Qualifications needed for undergraduate study

Orta Təhsil Haqqında Şəhadətnamə (Certificate or Diploma of Complete Secondary Education) is not accepted for direct entry to Year 1. Students can enter Year 1 after having successfully studied 1 year in a bachelor's degree programme or a recognised Foundation programme.

Entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus and a grading guide.

English language requirements

Qualifications needed for postgraduate (taught) study

For courses requiring a 2:1 you will need 75%+ in a Bakalavr Diplomu (bachelor's degree) or Diplomu (Specialist Diploma) 

For courses requiring a 2:2 you will need 65%+ in a Bakalavr Diplomu (bachelor's degree) or Diplomu (Specialist Diploma)

Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, work experience or require you to have a degree in a related field.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide an IELTS certificate, or equivalent. Our postgraduate IELTS requirements are:

• IELTS 6.0 for Business and Computing courses
• IELTS 6.0-6.5 for Art, Design and Engineering courses

Qualifications needed for undergraduate study

• A Levels – 104 to 136 UCAS points from minimum 2 A Levels (may require certain subject grades)
• IB – 24 to 32 points (may require subject grades at HL)
• 55% in accepted UK based foundation programme with no module below 50%
• Standard XII - Pass Standard XII with a minimum average of 65% from the best 4 subjects excluding Hindi
• American High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0, plus 
• ACT composite score of 23 or above or SAT1 (Post 2016) Minimum of 550 (R+W) plus 550 (Maths) = 1100/1600, plus
• Advanced Placement, 2 subjects from group A with grade 3 or  above or SAT2 - 2 subject tests with a minimum score of 500 in each =1000

Qualifications needed for postgraduate (taught) study

For courses that require a 2.1 classification, we accept an equivalent of GPA 3.0-4.0 or 3.5 (out of 5.0) or 80%

For courses that require a 2.2 classification, we accept an equivalent of GPA 2.67-4.0 or 2.8 (out of 5.0) or 75%

4 year bachelor's degree from BUET with a minimum of 55% or GPA 2.75/4.0, or a 4 year bachelor's degree from a good recognised university with a minimum of 60% or GPA 3.0/4.0

A Canadian high school/secondary school diploma from:

• Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, North West Territories, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan 70% in five acceptable grade 12 courses
• British Columbia, Yukon Territory 5 B grades in acceptable grade 12 courses
• Ontario Advanced level with six grade 12 courses
• Quebec (Diplome d'Etudes Collegiales (DEC)) Pass*

To enter the second year of an undergraduate degree you will need: Associate Degree 3.0 GPA / B / 73%

Average of 12 in Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie or successful completion of high school education plus satisfactory completion of additional study for potential advanced entry.

Qualifications needed for Foundation/International Year Zero

Chinese Senior Secondary School Senior 2 with minimum 70% or Senior 3 with below 75% (for International Year Zero).

International Year Zero English language requirements: IELTS 4.5 with pre-sessional English

 

Qualifications needed for undergraduate study

• Gaokao - Achieve Gaokao with 70% overall average
• A-levels or a recognised Foundation course
• Successful completion of the first year of a 4-year Chinese undergraduate program with overall 70% and all Pass

Equivalent to Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE Standard (including BTEC and SQA HND Diploma) will be considered for second- or third-year entry, with a 75% average or GPA 2.

If you have a 4 year Chinese bachelor's degree:

• 65% and all Pass (60%) overall for PG programs requiring 2.2 from a UK degree
• 70% and all Pass overall for PG programs required 2.1 from a UK degree

If you have a 4 year Chinese undergraduate program with Graduation Certificate:

• 70% overall and all Pass (60%) for PG programs requiring 2.2 of UK degree 
• 75% and all Pass (60%) for PG programs requiring 2.1 of UK degree

3-year Chinese diploma (Dazhuan) - For courses requiring 2.2 UK equivalent: overall 70% and all Pass (60%) plus sufficient and relevant work experience post diploma.

For PG programs requiring 2.1 UK equivalent 75% and all Pass (60%) plus sufficient and relevant work experience post diploma.

UK pre-master programs: overall 55% and all Pass (40%) Chinese pre-master programs: overall 70% and all Pass (60%)

For courses requiring 96 - 112 UCAS points with no subject specific requirements DMU will accept:
Bachillerato Acacademico 70% average or above PLUS 300 overall ICFES (SABRE 11) score

For courses requiring 120+ UCAS points with no subject specific requirements DMU will accept:
Bachillerato Academico 80% average or above PLUS 330 overall ICFES (SABRE 11) score

A recognised foundation is required for courses with subject-specific requirements

Qualifications needed for undergraduate study

For courses with no Level 3 subject-specific requirement DMU will accept 70% average in Bachillerato Ecuatoriano grade, plus one of the following:

• SATR (SAT I) with a minimum score of 1050 out of 1600
• ACT with a minimum score of 21
• 2 AP Tests with minimum scores of 3
• 2 SAT Subject Tests with minimum scores of 550
• 2 International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Level Subjects at grade 5 or above.

For courses with a Level 3 subject-specific requirement DMU will only accept A-levels, International Baccalaureate, or a Foundation course.

Hong Kong A-levels (HKALE) and DSE accepted

International Baccalaureate (IB) with 24-28 points, depending on the course

Higher Diplomas are generally regarded as equivalent to the BTEC Higher National Diploma. You may be able to enter directly onto the third year of certain courses.

Associate Degrees – you may be able to enter directly onto the second or third year of certain courses.
