De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester has teamed up again with Santander to give ten lucky DMU students the chance to win a £1,000 grant through the Brighter Futures initiative.
To be in with a chance of winning, students must sign up to Santander’s Open Academy – an e-learning platform with a range of useful courses, from tailoring your CV to building confidence in communicating and much more.
You don’t have to bank with Santander and it doesn’t matter if you’re an undergraduate or postgraduate student, if you’re on a part-time or full-time course.
If you are a lucky winner, the money is yours to spend however you choose, whether that's rent, bills, study equipment or everyday living costs.
Even if you don’t win, you'll still have free access to
Santander Open Academy and its online learning resources to support your studies and develop skills
The offer is part of an ongoing partnership with Santander and aims to help relieve some of the financial burden of studying at university.

1. Register for the Santander Open Academy using this link
2. Confirm your registration using the link sent to your email address.
3. Log in and select 'Get started'.
4. Choose De Montfort University and complete your application.
Entries are open now and you have until 11.59pm on Thursday 3 December 2026 to apply.
If you are one of the lucky winners, you will receive an email from a member of staff at DMU outlining how to claim your prize.
