On Wednesday 26 October, we will be launching the Green Impact programme as part of our series of activities in the countdown to the COP27 international climate conference in Egypt.
We are looking for Student Project Assistants to help incorporate sustainability initiatives at the university.
Green Impact is a United Nations (UN) award-winning programme designed to support environmentally and socially sustainable practice within organisations. This can mean anything from communicating recycling systems, to reducing single use plastics; from supporting team health and wellbeing campaigns, to working towards carbon-neutrality.
As a Project Assistant in the Green Impact project, you will offer support and extra resource to teams taking part in the initiative.
Through the scheme, students will develop a range of transferable skills, gain experience of a professional workplace and increase their sustainability knowledge.
Green Impact Project Assistants also add capacity to Green Impact teams at the university and act as a link between students and staff.
Benefits of being a Green Impact Project Assistant
- A chance to develop and gain invaluable transferable skills: 88% of students in previous years gave a rating of four or higher in response to being asked to what extent the training/practical experience would have a positive impact on their employability.
- Increased knowledge of sustainable practices in the workplace.
- Experience of working in a professional department and having an influence on their sustainability practices.
- Building links and relationships with a broad range of staff members and other students.
- Opportunity to contribute to Green Impact’s national communications through writing blogs articles, taking photos, drawing up case studies etc
