Refresh your mind, body and soul with the 533 Souls festival.


This year, as part of the DMU Indian Classical Music series, DMU Music and Darbar Festival are delighted to present the 533 Souls festival.

Featuring an online programme of Indian Classical and contemporary music, yoga and more, the festival is free to all DMU students and staff.

Filmed at the Curve Theatre earlier this year, each performance aims to promote healthy body, mind and soul through music and features the very finest Indian Classical and Contemporary musicians.

The programme listing includes:

  • Yoga by Kanwal Ahluwalia

  • Eeshar Singh (santoor) and Gurdain Rayatt (tabla)

  • Preetha Narayanan (violin) and Tara Franks (cello)

  • Kirpal Panesar (dilruba) & Surdarshan Chana (tabla)

  • Gurdain Rayatt (tabla solo)
     
  • Roopa Panesar (sitar) with Gurdain Rayatt (tabla)

  • Shahbaz Hussain (tabla solo)  

  • Ustad Wajahat Khan (sarod) with Shahbaz Hussain (tabla)

From Wednesday 1 to Wednesday 8 December 2021, DMU Music will share a new session via social media every day, courtesy of the Darbar YouTube channel.
