COVID Panel Discussion: COVID, vaccines and dispelling myths

A panel discussion to address Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy, concerns and misconceptions is taking place on Wednesday 17 November, 12 – 1:30pm via StreamYard.

Following an introduction from chair Professor of integrated health and social care Bertha Ochieng, the event will consist of speed lectures delivered by Professor of Microbiology Katie Laird, Director of Willows Health Vinay Gupta and DMU faith advisor Harminder Jagdev; followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session.

Each participant will draw on their area of knowledge, expertise or community engagement to discuss vaccine misconceptions and hesitancy, including amongst ‘hard to reach’ groups.

They will also broaden understanding around faith-based vaccine concerns and encourage vaccine uptake by highlighting where and how to access the vaccine.

In addition, they will discuss the role of the vaccine in keeping ourselves, our families and our communities safe.

Those attending the virtual event are welcome to ask questions in the chat, which will be addressed by the panel.

You can sign up to the event by emailing the Events Office at eventsoffice@dmu.ac.uk, following which a link to join will be sent to you 24 hours before the event starts.

You can register up to 11am on Wednesday 17 November.

For those unable to attend live, the event will be recorded and made available to watch back at a later date.
