One of the highlights of the leisure centre is our purpose built state-of-the-art gym containing high-quality Technogym equipment.
To use the Fitness Suite, you must have watched our online induction, or completed an induction with one of our gym instructors.
During the current facility guidelines, users of the gym must now book their sessions in order to use the gym. This can be done via the app or by using our Online booking system. Please note that non-members can only book 24 hours in advance and spaces are limited. Members can book up to 6 days in advance. If you can no longer make your session, you need to cancel your slot to avoid being charged non-attendance fees.
There are four specialist areas within the gym:
Get your heart pumping in our cardiovascular area, which includes equipment designed to give you a complete cardio workout, and boasts interactive screens that have Sky Sports TV, internet access and gaming.
Develop your strength and co-ordination in our resistance area with equipment to train all of the major muscle groups.
Focus on your strength training in our tailored free weights area, equipped with Olympic bars, dumbbells up to 40kg, squats racks and more.
'RIG' Functional training area
Our functional training area encompasses a comprehensive range of toning equipment designed to build a strong core. The Technogym RIG station includes Pull up bars, Kettlebells, TRX, Medicine balls, core bags and more available to use. Our fully trained staff are on site to help with any excersises or equipment you may be unfamiliar with.
Our expert staff can also create your own personalised training programme, tailored to meet your fitness goals
Gym inductions are included in the cost of memberships, where appropriate. Experienced gym users can watch our online induction video prior to using the fitness suite for the first time. We also offer full inductions (1 hour) for those who are new to using the fitness suite, or fast track inductions (15 minutes) for those who may just want a brief reminder of exercises and techniques.
You have to be 16 years old and over to use the gym.
Adding a Personal Trainer to your workout can be a real game-changer. The motivation, expert advice and encouragement they provide is often the reason our members not only achieve, but exceed their goals. Sessions with our Personal Trainers will ensure you are getting the most out of your workouts.
