This year will mark the 10th annual DMU Pride, an exciting month of events taking place to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month. Running from Wednesday 31 January to Thursday 29 February, the in-person and online events are designed to raise awareness and celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community.
This year's theme is 'Medicine' and celebrates LGBTQ+ peoples' contribution to the field of Medicine and Healthcare both historically and today.
This year's highlights include a pride day launch event featuring a drag performance and colourful stalls, a film screening of Under Your Nose followed by a Q&A with the film's director Veronica McKenzie, a queer Bollywood dance class, and a play from LGBTQ+ asylum seekers sharing their lived experiences followed by a Q&A.
