Heavy snowfall – travel and online learning

Following the heavy snowfall overnight, resulting in poor travel conditions and some road closures, we recommend that staff and students do not travel to the university.

DMU will remain open today (Friday 10 March) for those staff and students who can make it to campus, with the Estates team working hard to make the local area safe.

Online learning

Given the amount of disruption we may see today, we have taken the decision to offer teaching remotely to help ease the pressures on students and staff who may otherwise have difficulties with commuting and childcare.

Your lecturers will be in contact with you to confirm the arrangements and explain how to access any sessions remotely. Wherever possible, practical sessions will go ahead in person.

Go to our guide on how to access remote learning.

While the Estates team will continue to keep campus safe, we would ask that staff and students please take care if they do choose to attend the university today.
