Come to the opening of your new Careers Hub on Tuesday 7 March

Our new Careers Hub is opening to help students gain easy access to advice and guidance from our expert Careers Team.

The Hub launches on Tuesday 7 March at 1pm in the Hugh Aston Building, between the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre and Coffee House, and has been created as a direct result of feedback from our students. The Hub is for students from all faculties to use to boost employability skills and receive tailored careers advice.

You told us you weren’t always sure where to go or how to access careers support, so we’ve created this dedicated space where you can drop in at any time on weekdays between 10am and 3pm for specialist careers support. In addition, we will continue to offer bookable appointments for those who would like them.

As well as our experienced Careers Team staff (previously known as DMU Works), you will be able to chat to our student Careers Coaches who are there to provide peer-to-peer advice. The Hub will also house new, state-of-the-art virtual reality equipment, Bodyswaps, that will allow you to practise your interview technique. DMU is one of just 106 colleges and universities across the globe that will receive access to this software, so this is a really exciting opportunity for you to boost your skills.

We’ll also be using the Hub for employability related events and activities throughout the year, so keep an eye out for more information on the Careers Team webpages.
