On Monday 29 March, the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre are holding a free online community event: An evening with Baroness Doreen Lawrence: Bringing Legacy to Leicester. Running from 5.30-7pm, this event is open to all DMU staff and students, and local communities.
Ahead of Stephen Lawrence day, 22 April, this event will provide Baroness Lawrence with a platform to extend Stephen’s legacy, share the foundations’ visions and reconnect with Leicester communities. Educators, students, and community leaders from across the wider Midlands will join the discussion alongside Imran Khan QC, honorary DMU graduate and Doctor of Law, to discuss Stephen’s legacy and how it is inspiring positive change across the nation.
Topics of discussion will include the journey leading up to the creation of Stephen Lawrence Day, what the foundation has achieved so far and its ambitions for future recognition. There will also be a chance to ask questions and hear from students who will be sharing details of their school activities in relation to Stephen’s legacy.
Join the conversation, Monday 29 March, 5.30-7pm.
