International Women in Engineering Day – Panel Discussion


In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day 2021, the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media are holding a virtual panel discussion on Thursday 24 June 2021, 3 - 4pm to explore: experiences of being a woman in engineering, challenges the panel have faced and how they have overcome these and what more can be done to encourage more women and girls to get in to STEM subjects.

The panel will be chaired by the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media’s Deputy Dean Dr Sarah Jones and include inspirational women from the faculty:

  • Professor Shushma Patel – PVC Dean Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media

  • Professor Ljiljana Marjanovic-Halburd – Head of School for Engineering and Sustainable Development

  • Professor Raffaella Villa – Professor in Environmental Bioengineering

  • Dr Zehor Belkhatir – Lecturer in Control Engineering

  • Ellie Lilliott – 1st Year Mechanical Engineering Student

 
The event will be online and you will be given the opportunity to get involved with the discussions and ask questions.
