Recently, the UK government issued new guidance to set out a cautious roadmap to ease existing lockdown measures in a safe and measured way.
While all of us should continue to stay at home as much as possible, the government are now allowing students, who previously left their university accommodation, to travel back to recover their belongings.
We want DMU students to be able to do so in the near future but we must continue to follow government guidance covering this activity, including social distancing guidelines, at all times and ask that you follow the precautions laid out by the government to stay safe outside your home.
The ongoing safety of all of our students and staff is of paramount importance so we’re instructing students in DMU accommodation that:
- you should not return to your accommodation without prior approval from DMU accommodation staff.
- You will receive an e-mail this afternoon outlining our plans to manage this process. We will shortly be issuing further information on booking time slots to collect belongings from DMU accommodation, and how you can return library books so please keep a look out via email and other online channels.
We also ask all DMU students in non-DMU accommodation to contact your hall provider to obtain details on how you can get access to collect your belongings in the safest way possible. Please DO NOT travel to the accommodation without notifying the hall provider first.
