De Montfort Students' Union (DSU), your independent student-led organisation located at the centre of campus, is here to help you achieve this.

Every DMU student is automatically a member of DSU, so why not go and say hello?

DSU empowers you to create an unforgettable student journey by looking out for your wellbeing, creating a sense of belonging, amplifying your voice and providing an array of opportunities for you to get involved in.

There’s something for everyone at DSU, with more than 100 student groups and societies, a range of fun events throughout the year, great facilities in the Campus Centre and a brilliant advice team on hand to support you throughout your studies.

Societies and student groups

There are so many opportunities to discover new hobbies, make new friends and share the things you love with other students.

If you can’t find the right group for you, you can start a new one!

Advice and wellbeing

DSU is here to help you with course queries and matters related to finance, wellbeing, and housing – it’s here to make sure you feel safe and welcome, and it’s all completely free and impartial.

DSU Advice is a free, confidential and independent service for current DMU students. The friendly team of advisors are on hand to guide you through any academic or welfare queries you may have.

Events

The students’ union runs a wide range of events and activities for you to get involved with throughout the year. Whether you're looking to make friends, try something new or simply just have a brilliant time, DSU is the place to be.

So far this academic year, DSU have hosted an exciting Freshers’ Week, award evenings, film, quiz and comedy nights, seasonal themed activities such as pumpkin painting and much more.

Make your voice heard

DSU represents your academic interests and amplifies your voice. This year, you’ve nominated and voted for a team of Executive and Liberation Officers, and more than 400 course reps who represent your course’s interests.
