DMU has updated its printing and copying services

In recent years, the university had separate contracts for staff and student printing, scanning and copying devices, also known as multifunctional devices (MFDs).

Current devices have now been replaced with Kyocera devices and available to both staff and students in time for the new academic year.

This allows us to reduce the total number of MFDs from more than 200 down to around 150, in line with our environmental goals.

These new printers have been carefully selected to provide a faster, quieter, and more environmentally friendly printing experience for everyone. This upgrade will significantly contribute to the overall efficiency and sustainability of our campus.

The old DocuPro print management software will also be replaced with PaperCut to help manage device access securely, minimise waste and reduce costs.

The new printer queues have been automatically installed on all of the university’s computers. They are:

  • DMU-Colour on V00PPC00005L
  • DMU-Mono on V00PPC00005L

Students can currently add printing credit through online payments or cash machines in the Kimberlin Library. In future, machines in the library will accept both cash and cards.

There are posters situated next to the new printers detailing the basic user functionality. You can also access detailed user instructions online.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to improve our printing infrastructure.
