Celebrate International Women's Day 2022

Updated with new events Thursday 3 March.

To celebrate this year's International Women's Day (IWD) on Tuesday 8 March, DMU Women are hosting a series of exciting events both online and on campus.

IWD, part of Women’s History Month (taking place throughout March) celebrates the achievements of women and raises awareness of gender equality. This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias and looks at how we can live in a gender equal world.

You can get involved with the #BreakTheBias campaign by sending in photos of you with crossed arms (see image below) or taking a selfie with one of the pledge cards, which you can download now, to show your support.

Jo Richardson, Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) and co-chair of DMU Women said: “This year’s International Women’s Day programme showcases a variety of events featuring inspirational women, amplifying their voices and breaking the bias.

“I would like to encourage everyone, including male allies to help us #BreakTheBias to create a more equal society. We do hope you can show your support and attend some of the IWD events.”
