Managing academic quality

De Montfort University (DMU) operates a devolved approach to managing academic quality, believing assurance and enhancement is best done as close as possible to where the quality really matters – at programme and module level. This ensures that all teaching staff and student representatives have a role in assuring quality, which is underpinned by the central academic quality management framework managed by the Department of Academic Quality (DAQ).

This section details the roles and responsibilities of key individuals and DAQ in terms of quality management, along with those of central and faculty committees. It also includes external quality requirements such as the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and Ofsted, statutory national returns and surveys, and managing Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) relationships.
