How to apply to postgraduate study at De Montfort University

We’re delighted you’re considering applying for postgraduate study at DMU. Whether you are from the UK or overseas, below you can find all the information you need to complete your application.

Current students – UK and Overseas applicants (or those who have graduated since 2015)

Option 1: Visit myDMU and apply through the ‘New Course Application’ tile.

Option 2: Complete a writable PDF postgraduate application form and email it to admissions@dmu.ac.uk

New to DMU – UK applicants (or those who have graduated pre-2015)

To apply to study a postgraduate course (full-time or part-time) you can apply using the following options:

Option 1: Apply via the DMU Online Portal. This method allows you to save, revisit and review your application before submitting it at any time of the day.

Option 2: Complete a writable PDF postgraduate application form and email it to admissions@dmu.ac.uk

What to include 

The following should be submitted with the application form:

  • One current reference on official headed paper or from a professional email address (this can be a work or academic reference and must be signed and recently dated)
  • Copies of academic transcripts
  • Copies of degree/diploma certificates
  • Personal statement
  • Some of our creative courses may ask for a portfolio - see our portfolio advice

It is important that you send this information to us as soon as possible via the DMU online portal or if you are applying via the PDF either as paper copies by mail, or as scanned and emailed documents.
