Due to a widely publicised critical flaw that could affect a range of devices, Apple has issued a security update and advise users to apply this immediately. The vulnerability could potentially allow attackers to take complete control of your Apple devices (Phones, laptops & tablets).
We advise all staff and students to update their apple devices (Phones, laptops and tablets) ASAP. DMU issued Macs will receive the update upon reboot, so please restart your DMU Apple Mac on receipt of this email.
Apple has released macOS Monterey 12.5.1 and iOS 15.6.1/iPadOS 15.6.1 to resolve the vulnerabilities that are reported to have been actively exploited. More detailed information is available via this article. Please see guidance on how to update iOS and Mac devices if required.
