Student projects and placements

There are plenty of ways to get involved with DMU Local and supporting your local community one of which is through running your own projects. As part of your course, sports team, society, or with a group of fellow students, you may have a great idea for a community project. If this is the case, you can always contact DMU Local to see if we are able to support you with your project.

The below diagram illustrates all of the considerations you will need to make about your project, as well as how to contact us and the support we can offer. Does your project fit in with this?

Once you are ready to contact us, fill out the Student Proposal Form and email it to us at local@dmu.ac.uk.

Placements

Throughout your time at DMU, you may wish to undertake a placement to boost your knowledge of a subject, or increase your employability skills. Whatever your motivation there are plenty of Placement options available at DMU.

  • Get involved by looking at advertisements through MyGateway
  • You can also find Graduate Champion, and Frontrunner placements on MyGateway, as well
  • Contact our Careers Team for advice on getting a placement, as well as how to get in touch with your faculty placement team
