New Wharf Hall
On the edge of campus, close to a large supermarket and our QEII Leisure Centre, New Wharf Hall is owned and managed by De Montfort University.
Its flats have four, seven or 10 bedrooms, with each including a shared bathroom (two toilets and two showers per flat, 1 toilet and shower in 4 bedroom flat). Allocated car parking spaces for students with a disability are also available.

Communal areas of flats, including toilets and showers, are cleaned and students have access to a coinless laundry room (£2 per wash, £1.50 per dry).
TV points are available in kitchens, but bedrooms require an indoor aerial. Internet broadband is provided by ASK4 and upgrades to the basic package of 30Mb/s are available.
Each bedroom has:
- Single bed with under bed storage
- Vanity unit with cupboards above
- Wash basin with a shaver point, towel rail and mirror
- Wardrobe and coat hook
- Desk with shelves, a notice board, a desk lamp and bin
- Desk chair and a bench
- Bedrooms are carpeted and have window blinds

A standard contract at New Wharf Hall lasts for 38 weeks and one day, running from Friday 20 September 2019 to Saturday 14 June 2020.
Art and Design Foundation student contracts last for 38 weeks and one day, running from Sunday 25 August 2019 to Saturday 24 May 2020.

This is a DMU-managed hall and payments are on more flexible terms than those offered by some private providers. You will be able to use your student loan to pay your rent, as instalments are due after you have received it.
There are no payment surcharges. We operate an online payment system. Payments can also be made by cash, cheque, credit or debit card, banker’s draft and bank transfer.
