Leisure Centre Closure

In light of the latest UK Government advice to delay the spread of COVID-19, the university has extended the closure of the QEII Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre in line with the rest of the university buildings to ensure the wellbeing of our users and our workforce. We will re-open once government restrictions enable us to do so.

We realise this will be disappointing but the health and safety of our community must always be our highest priority.

In the meantime, the team are providing live classes, challenges and advice on fitness and nutrition on our social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We have also created a YouTube channel to post workouts and pre-recorded workouts too. You can find us on social networks by searching for DMULeisure. Take a look for inspiration, moral support and to see some familiar faces!

The team would welcome any comments or suggestions on the content we're sharing to make this unprecedented time more enjoyable for you, and them.

We are working in the background to extend or postpone your memberships in line with this new extension. No payments will be taken whilst we are currently closed. If you have any queries then please let us know.

Any other questions? Please contact us at

We apologise for any inconvenience this action may cause you but we will be doing everything possible to have our facility operational again soon.

Best wishes,
DMU Leisure
