Research in the Department of Accounting and Finance

The Department of Accounting and Finance has a rapidly expanding research community and an exciting and excellent research atmosphere. We have expertise in many fields across our subject areas. Our research culture is enhanced by a strong and integrated group of researchers and research centres that host leading academics and practitioners in the fields of accounting, finance and banking. We also champion a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative research within and beyond the department and the university.

We have two highly respected research centres, the Finance and Banking Research Centre (FiBRe) and the Centre for Research in Accountability, Governance and Sustainability (CRAGS).

  • FiBRe brings together finance and banking researchers to engage in cutting-edge research, combining academic rigour with practice and policy relevance.
  • CRAGS provides support for the development of new and existing researchers in the broad area of organisational governance and accountability, encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to the study of these themes.
