The Institute of Artificial Intelligence (IAI) develops fundamental theoretical and practical solutions to real-world problems using a variety of Artificial Intelligence paradigms.
The IAI offers smart solutions and intelligent techniques to improve and enhance businesses in transportation, smart manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, media, energy, water, and environment. The IAI has links with the City of Leicester, and industry.
The research institute has a strong track record in AI related research, and especially computational intelligence, data science and its applications to transportation and vision & Game AI. The institute is a world pioneer in fuzzy sets, grey systems, and evolutionary computing.
In the 2014 REF, the IAI contributed to half of the submissions of DMU for Computer Science and Informatics, and the Institute has made again as substancial contribution for REF2021.
