DMU ranked top 25 for graduate employability

DMU has been named in the top 25 UK universities with the best employment rates, while its graduates have also been featured in renowned business magazine The Economist after helping Leicester match London for the numbers of fastest-growing businesses in the UK. More than 135 start-ups were launched at DMU last year through its Enterprise Inc programme, which offers places and mentoring to graduates.
Furthermore, results from the annual Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey reported that 95.8 per cent of DMU graduates from summer 2014 were in work or further study six months after graduating.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dominic Shellard said: “At DMU, we know how important employability is to our students. We have forged links with global companies to provide quality internships, offered international placements through #DMUglobal and continue to support graduates to find work through innovative programmes. It is gratifying to see this work recognised. Our alumni continue to make their mark in a rich variety of high-profile roles across the globe.”
The DLHE rise continues a series of achievements by DMU which recognise the university’s sustained focus on providing the best possible student experience and improving graduate employability. It was named the most-improved university in Britain by The Sunday Times and The Times, gained its highest-ever position in the influential Complete University Guide and was one of the biggest climbers in this year’s Guardian University Guide.
