Global Partnerships Scholarship

Partnerships with purpose are a strong theme of DMU’s Empowering University strategy. We believe strong global partnerships enable us to deliver our vision in Leicester and enable students and graduates to access international opportunities.

The following merit-based scholarships will be awarded on an application basis to students meeting a defined criteria who are applying for any level of an undergraduate degree. We welcome applications to the Global Partnership Scholarship from prospective students who will contribute to our Partnerships with purpose strategy and can demonstrate the championing of the partnership between the UK and their home country or institution.

Awards available are:

  • 3 x Full Scholarship Awards
  • 9 x £8,500 Scholarship Awards

The Global Partnership Scholarship is only awarded for the first year of study; however can be combined with the Global Access Scholarship for progressing years of study.

Applications will be open from 15 May 2026 until 17 July. Winning applications are decided by a panel, and successful award winners will be notified no later than 31 July 2026 via the email provided in your application.

 

  1. Academic entry requirements – China

    Meets one of the following:

    • SQA AD: GU BB or above
    • Overall, 85% and all modules passed
    • GPA 3.5
    • BTEC HND: 10 D, All Pass
    • IETLS 5.5 and no components lower than 5.0 (or equivalent)
  2. Academic qualification requirements – rest of the world

    • Equivalent of a 2:1, 60% GPA or Merit Award

There are two parts required to apply for this scholarship.

  1. Complete the application form, including three written questions
  2. Submit a 2-minute video. Further details can be found in the application form.

Submissions may be filtered through AI detection software.

Winners are expected to contribute 10 hours of their time to DMU led marketing activities over the first year of study. This could be a contributing to social media campaigns, being a panel member on a livestream/podcast or advising prospective international students to DMU. Full briefing and training will be provided by our expert engagement teams.
