Craft 2026, which opened this week, is an exhibition of ceramics, glass, textiles and metalwork from established professionsals and emerging creatives, and features work by second year DMU Design Craft students.

It’s a moment to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Level 5 Design Craft students as they show their work at their first public exhibition.
Craft 2026, at the LCB Depot in Leicester, opened this week and runs until Friday 19 June, (Monday-Friday, 11am-5pm). Come along and support the craft community and treat yourself to something handmade!
This year our students had the opportunity to work in collaboration with glass students at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. Later in the summer their work will be displayed in South Africa at the 2026 Glass Safari at the Pretoria Arts Association.
Lecturer in Design Crafts, Kate Shea, said:
“Our Design Crafts course has been proud to work with LCB to celebrate our Level 5 students' end of year work. Throughout their second year our students build on the practical knowledge they gained in the first year, where they learned a wide range of processes in glass, clay, fine metals, and fibre.
“This year the focus has been geared towards employability. Students get the opportunity to work to live briefs with industry and bring together digital technologies with practical making. ‘CRAFT 2026’ is their opportunity to show their self-initiated project during which they begin to form their own unique visual language.”
