The repair works currently being carried out by Leicester City Council to the Turret Gateway on Castle View are nearly complete.
While the scaffolding is dismantled around the Gateway, the temporary boarded tunnel will be closed to pedestrians from Monday 14 to Monday 21 January 2019 (inclusive) so the work can proceed safely.
During the closure a diversion will be in operation. This will be similar to the diversion that was in place while the scaffolding was installed last September. Diversion signs will guide staff and students from the campus to the Leicester Castle Business School, Castle Inn and Liberty Court, as shown on the map below.
Pedestrian access via the Turret Gateway will be available in time for the Winter Graduations on Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 January.
The repair works are expected to be completely finished during early February when the restored Turret Gateway structure will be fully revealed.
