St Martins House

Located a 10 minute walk from campus, close to a variety of convenience stores and leisure facilities, St Martins House is privately managed by Unite Students. 

Each flat consists of four, five or six bedrooms, with each bedroom having en suite facilities.

Within each flat there is a shared kitchen featuring a breakfast bar and stools as well as a carpeted area with a sofa and curtains. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster and each flat also has a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, mop and bucket, iron and an ironing board and bin.

Broadband connection, up to 50Mb, is provided by Studentcom and included in rent costs, while TV connection points are available in bedrooms and kitchens (a co-axial cable is required).

The hall features CCTV, a secure door entry system and 24 hour roaming security. Bicycle storage and a coinless laundry facilities (£3 per wash, £1.50 per dry).

St Martins House also features a common area, including Sky TV and Sky Sports.

Limited car parking is available on a first come, first served basis. A 43-week parking space costs £645.

Contract lengths

A contract at St Martins House lasts for 43 weeks and one day, running from Friday 22 September 2017 to Friday 20 July 2018.

International students can start a week earlier (additional costs apply).

Rent and costs

Classic en suite: £117 per week, inclusive of bills. Total: £5,047.71

N.B. A guarantor is required. The guarantor can be either UK or international; they must be over the age of 21 and in full-time employment. Without a guarantor you will need to make payment for the full year’s rent when making the booking.

Rent instalments

Classic en-suite (43 week and one day contract), four instalments:

  • 8 September 2017, £504.77
  • 13 October 2017, £1,514.31
  • 19 January 2018, £2,018.08
  • 13 April 2018, £1,009.55

Students with an international home address will need to pay in two equal instalments on 8 September 2017 and 12 January 2018

Additional rent considerations

The first instalment is due prior to arrival; you will not be able to use your student loan to make this payment, as you receive your student loan after you have enrolled on your course.

Payments can be made by debit card or credit card (there is a two per cent surcharge on credit card transactions) or by direct debit. Bank transfers can be used for customers with no other ways of making payment.
