More than 40 former students turned up to the dinner at top-rated traditional restaurant Al-Najdiyah Village, organised to honour DMU’s large population of Saudi alumni as part of the university’s international ethos.

Among those who attended the lively reunion was Dr Jehad Alamri who graduated with MSc Information Systems Management in 2005 and returned to DMU for a PhD in Computer Ethics which he finished in 2012.

Dr Alamri is now Vice Dean in the Department of Computers and Information Technology at Taif University. He said: “The community in Leicester and at DMU is really friendly for all students.

“My research group, the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility had a 5* RAE research rating and is the only centre in the country specialising in computer ethics.

“I would recommend DMU because of the sense of community it offers and the friends I made. The quality of study is also excellent and I was able to gain important work experience while I was there.”
