DMU campus facilities
The library will be open from the start of term. Our spaces have undergone adjustments for safety and physical distancing, one-way systems, screens have been installed, signage and hand sanitising stations are in place.
We’re still finalising some of the details around our processes so please check back here for more on how you can access the Library soon.

QEII Leisure Centre
The team at the QEII Leisure Centre are looking forward to welcoming students and staff and have been making preparations to ensure you can enjoy the facilities safely.
To comply with Government guidelines, there will be some changes to how you access the facilities.
All activities (including swimming and attending the gym) will need to be pre-booked. All activities will be bookable up to six days in advance and customers can do this via the app or online booking system.
Social distancing measures and capacity levels will be in place to meet recommended guidelines set out by the appropriate governing bodies and university policies. You can find about re-opening measures here.
Time has been scheduled for student sports clubs to train at Beaumont Park from Monday 5 October. More information will be communicated from DMUsport to clubs via their club committees, including how to book transport. DMUsport will share more on their website soon.
DSU - Campus Centre

Student Voice Team
The DSU Voice team work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. If you would like to get in touch with the team, please contact them via email at email@example.com.
A one-stop shop for stationary and DMU-branded clothing. Stationary includes but is not limited to notepads, pens, ring binders, lanyards and card holders. Supplies also offer a binding service for dissertations and other course related content.
Open Monday-Friday 8:30am-4pm in the Campus Centre Building.
Your American-style diner serving a wide range of meals and snacks from pancakes and burgers, to milkshakes and waffles. If you fancy something smaller, come along to have some homemade cade with Fairtrade coffee or one of our variety of teas.
Open for breakfast 9am-11:30am and open for lunch from 11:30am-4pm.
Please note SU’s Diner is currently only offering a takeaway service.
Unfortunately due to the ongoing global pandemic, the Function Rooms will be closed for all activity including our day time bar SU’s Lounge, weekly quiz night and the SU’s weekly club night – Injunction. Please follow the De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s social media accounts or check demontfortsu.com regularly for further updates on when we will be reopening.
We have worked with our catering partner Chartwells to ensure a variety of food and drink options are prepared and available in accordance to government guidelines.
The Food Village, Simply Fresh and the Newarke Café will be open Monday-Friday, from 8am to 4pm with the following measures implemented:
- Screens will be provided at all counters and till points.
- A one-way system will be in place, with directional signage and floor markings for a one-way flow.
- Seating will be spaced out to adhere to ensure social distancing.
- Each area will have a maximum capacity to avoid overcrowding.
- Contactless card payments are encouraged and preferred.
- Only disposable cups, food containers and cutlery will be available. Reusable cups will not be permitted.
- All areas will have increased cleaning and sanitisation.
- A ‘click and collect’ app will be available to pre order food and collect at a selected time slot to avoid crowding.
