DMU campus facilities
Kimberlin Library
The library will remain open for students who have face-to-face teaching and for those who are staying in student accommodation. In line with government guidelines, the library is open for studying and borrowing materials, on an essential access-only basis.
Our spaces have undergone adjustments for safety and physical distancing, one-way systems, screens have been installed, signage and hand sanitising stations are in place.

The library team has also worked on an enhanced package of support and online resources for you to access.
QEII Leisure Centre
The QEII Leisure Centre will not be open to members until further notice. All memberships have been frozen since Thursday 5th November and will be extended in line with the closure period. No action needs to be taken for this to be completed.
Beaumont Park
Beaumont Park will also close.
DSU - Campus Centre
De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) will continue to support students remotely. The DSU Advice, Activities, and DSU Voice teams will be working from home and will still be available to support students online.
The Campus Centre, including DSU’s Reception, the Function Rooms and commercial outlets, including SUpplies and SU’s Diner, will remain closed during the lockdown. The Simply Fresh store will remain open in line with government guidance for key shops and supermarkets.

Student Voice Team
The DSU Voice team work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. If you would like to get in touch with the team, please contact them via email at voice@dmu.ac.uk.
Supplies Shop
A one-stop shop for stationary and DMU-branded clothing. Stationary includes but is not limited to notepads, pens, ring binders, lanyards and card holders. Supplies also offer a binding service for dissertations and other course related content.
Unfortunately, SUpplies will be closed until further notice, in line with government guidance.
SU's Diner
Your American-style diner serving a wide range of meals and snacks from pancakes and burgers, to milkshakes and waffles. If you fancy something smaller, come along to have some homemade cade with Fairtrade coffee or one of our variety of teas.
Unfortunately, SU’s Diner will be closed until further notice, in line with government guidance.
Function Rooms
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing global pandemic, the Function Rooms will be closed for all activity including our daytime bar SU’s Lounge, weekly quiz night and the SU’s weekly club night – Injunction.
Please follow the De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s social media accounts or check www.demontfortsu.com regularly for further updates on when we will be reopening.
Catering
We have worked with our catering partner Chartwells to ensure a variety of food and drink options are prepared and available in accordance with government guidelines.
The majority of catering facilities will be closed until further notice. Only the Food Village will remain operational to serve as a takeaway service. You will also be able to sit in and eat, providing you maintain social distancing.
The Simply Fresh store is to remain open in line with government guidance for key shops and supermarkets.
Student Gateway
The Student Gateway is currently closed in line with government lockdown guidance.
You can continue to access Student Gateway services (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) via phone by selecting the relevant service from the menu or by email – please see team details below. We also have our live chat channel available via dmu.ac.uk/studentgateway.
You can book telephone appointments via MyGateway. A staff member will call you at the allocated time on the phone number stored in DMU’s student records system. Please make sure your personal contact details are up-to-date by checking the Personal Details tile on MyDMU.

Hugh Aston Building and The Yard
The Hugh Aston Building and The Yard are closed in line with the government lockdown guidance.
Business and Law students can continue to access advice and support from the Student Advice Centre team (Monday-Friday 9.00am - 4.45pm) or by telephone 0116 2577243.

Campus Buildings
In line with the new national lockdown and latest government guidance, a number of campus buildings have been closed until further notice.
Only those students who have face-to-face teaching for the specified subject areas in Health and Life Sciences (HLS) are permitted to access buildings where their classes take place.
All other students therefore must not try and access any workshops or labs in any other circumstances.
Research students are permitted to access specialist labs and study spaces but only if it is deemed absolutely necessary to conduct their work.
