Our media courses are designed to give you the skills you need to succeed in the media industry, whether you are passionate about exploring critical perspectives in media, television and film or want to build a technical and practical skillset to prepare for a role in journalism, digital broadcasting or social media production.

DMU is currently undergoing a £6.5m investment into a new Digital Tech Learning Hub, putting the university at the forefront of digital education and responding to the ever-growing need for graduates with advanced digital skills. Students will benefit from new facilities such as TV Production, Content, Motion Capture, Virtual Production and Image Capture studios, among others. The Digital Tech Learning Hub is set to be completed in January 2024.

Learn from academic experts who are active in industry, and attend guest lectures from film directors, writers and journalists. Enjoy opportunities to benefit from close links with local media partners and community media organisations.

Develop your skills in our specialist facilities, featuring industry-standard video, audio and radio production suites, fully equipped recording studios, and a dedicated newsroom.

Graduates work in a range of careers from producers, editors, and writers to journalists, researchers and television production staff at the BBC, the Guardian, the Telegraph, Sky Sports, Film4 and Odeon Entertainment.
