Creative Design Applicant Taster Day activities - 14 March

An Applicant Taster Day is an unmissable opportunity to get hands-on with your chosen course. Tailored for DMU applicants and the course you've applied for, we'll be holding demonstrations, exercises and activities that give you a flavour of what you'll experience when studying here at DMU. Some sessions are subject to availability and have limited spaces, so we recommend booking early.

Below is a list of the activities running on the day for Creative Design courses. Take a look at what's going on for the course you've applied for, then book your place on the form underneath.

  1. Animation

    This challenging and exciting course offers you the opportunity to explore the world of animation, storytelling, creating characters, worlds, soundscapes and much more. In this session, we will explore the world of animation, the key processes involved from idea generation, character design, story boarding to exploring what it takes to create a finished film.

  2. Game Art

    In this session you will explore drawing techniques using primitive shapes and solids, whilst exploring the basic fundamentals of breaking drawings.

  3. Graphic Design, Graphic Design (Illustration)

    In this workshop you will design and print a small run of ‘zines’, utilising found imagery, photography, and also the creative responses of the group. You will use photomontage techniques, layout design methods and, using our specialist in-house Risograph printer, print a zine in unique, bright and fluorescent colours.
