Recognising and Responding to Acute Physical Deterioration in Adults (online delivery)

The hybrid module prepares nurses and allied health professionals to identify and manage acutely ill adults outside critical care. Using a systems-based, problem-solving approach, it enhances knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology while integrating national clinical guidelines. Learners will develop skills in patient assessment, diagnostics, and evidence-based care planning to effectively respond to clinical deterioration.

Entry criteria

  • All students must have an effective registration with an appropriate Professional statutory regulatory body
  • Students should usually have a minimum of one year’s post-registration experience, normally within a health practice setting
  • They should also possess 120 credits at levels 4 and 5 (previously 1 and 2) that has not previously been counted towards a degree award
  • Student should have the ability to study successfully at Degree Level
