Work Based Portfolio

Module code: CORP 3014

Module description

The work-based portfolio has been especially designed for part-time students and is completed as a self-directed summer module at the end of their penultimate academic year. It enables students to integrate aspects of their work experience with specific areas covered in their degree studies, requiring students to seek out links between theory and practice with their work experience as a source of primary data. Emphasis throughout the portfolio is on analysis and evaluation of material presented and description, other than of purely factual material, is discouraged. Normally, the portfolio will consist of three sections: the structure of the employing organisation; decision-making processes within the organisation and the students' own role within the organisation. The portfolio is expected to be between 5,000-7,000 words long.
