Peter Collyer Chartered FCIPD

Peter was appointed as an Independent Governor in January 2022. He is also a member of the People and Culture Committee.

Peter has invested 30 years in retail and consumer facing businesses with 25 of those in Human Resources, People and Organisation Design.

He began his early career as a chef apprentice and went on to run multiple restaurants and hospitality outlets leading large teams at a young age. He specialised in training and development, with a focus on leadership, embedding global culture and employee engagement.

His multi sector experience includes, Resort Condominiums International, Yamaichi International (Japanese Investment banking), Oasis Fashion, Disney Consumer Products where he invested 12 years and led a global HR team based in California. He then moved to Chicago as Chief Human Resources Officer for Claire’s Accessories before returning to the UK as People Experience Director for the pureplay retailer ASOS.COM. He recently completed a three-and-a-half-year transformation programme as the Chief People Officer for Ted Baker Plc, where he was responsible for Sustainability, Ethics and all things People and Culture related.

He is an accredited coach, a mentor for the Supporting Wounded Veterans charity and the CIPD. He recognises the evolving “world of work” is all about embracing life as a “whole” and todays emerging talent and multi-generational workforce provide the backdrop for a rich and rewarding experience, where he strives to make a difference. He aspires to help others identify with their purpose, connect with their individuality and unlock their passion.
