Following a review last year an updated Policy and Procedure for Student Pregnancy, Maternity, Secondary Carer (Paternity) and Adoption Leave has been approved by the university's Operational Leadership Group (OLG).
This new policy comes into effect from the 2019/20 academic year onwards.
Key updates to the policy include:
- Clearer identification of who students should contact when informing the university
- Improved procedures when referring students to services in the Student Gateway
- Improved procedures when referring students to teams in Student and Academic Services (SAS)
- Further consideration and clarity made in light of new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
