Students from various DMU faculties are travelling to Calais on Monday 4 November to take part in a DMU Local volunteering trip. The trip is delivered in partnership with the Journeys Festival and ArtReach.
Over the course of four days, 13 students will be getting involved in delivering arts and craft workshops in a community centre, sorting through items in a donation depot and spending the day in a community kitchen.
DMJU Local is now collecting the following donated items to take across and would appreciate your support:
- Clothes: warm winter clothing, socks, scarves, gloves
- Toiletries: toothpaste, sanitary products, shower gel, soap
- Food items: dry spices (cumin, paprika, cinnamon), cooking oil, rice, sugar, salt, canned goods, tea, coffee
- Leisure: sports kit, painting supplies, books, colouring pads, pens and craft paper
All donations can be dropped into DMU Local, 0.36 Portland Building, until Friday 1 November.
Thank you in advance and we hope to be able to donate lots of useful items on behalf of DMU.
Please follow @DMU_Engagement on Twitter for updates about the trip.
