It was a fantastic week for our DMUsport teams on Wednesday 16 October for #BUCSWednesday as #TeamDMU won nine fixtures.
Golf secured their first ever win in DMUsport history as the Mixed 1st team won with 4 points to 2 against Nottingham Trent’s 2nd team. Table Tennis, Futsal and Lacrosse also had 2 wins each.
Women’s Lacrosse
To start the day we went to Beaumont Park to watch the Women’s Lacrosse 1st team play against University of Warwick’s 2nd team.
In the first quarter both sides were attacking excellently, with the score drawing at 3 all. The score remained closer in the second quarter but #TeamDMU took the lead with 5 points to 4.
Going into the final quarter the DMU Eagles’ defence was on top form as they used their teamwork skills to defend the goal the best they could. Tensions remained high as the teams were neck and neck with a score of 6 all.
A game-changing 2 more goals from #TeamDMU in the final quarter meant that the Eagles won 8 – 7.
Women’s Football
Staying at Beaumont Park, at 3.30pm it was time for the kick off for the Women’s Football 2nd team v Anglia Ruskin University’s 1st team.
After 30 minutes the score was 2 – 1 to #TeamDMU, but another goal from Anglia Ruskin meant at the end of the first half the teams were drawing at 2 all.
DMU scored their final goal with 10 minutes to go and it was looking like a win, until Anglia Ruskin scored within the last few minutes of the game, making the match a draw with 3 - 3.
We had a brilliant time watching BUCS fixtures at Beaumont Park last week.
