Maintenance work at Gateway House and Clephan Building this weekend

Maintenance work this weekend will affect Gateway House and the Clephan Building.

Gateway House main entrance

Please be aware that Estates are closing the main entrance to Gateway House from 5pm tonight and over this weekend (30 November and 1 December) to undertake the installation of the inner lobby doors and barrier matting to the new internal lobby.

The main entrance will be re-opened on Monday morning. There will still be further works to complete in this area after the weekend. Therefore the main entrance will also be closed after 5pm from 2 December to possibly 6 December. Access during these periods will be via the rear of the building.

Also over this weekend, noisy works will be undertaken to form the new entrances to Lift 1 and 2, and this is likely to be carried out the following weekend as well.

While this will substantially reduce the noise impact on the staff and students, please note due to the nature of the lift works not all noise can limited. During the week it has been agreed with the contractor that continuous noise work will only be carried out before 9am and after 5pm. Between the core hours of 9am to 5pm there will be sporadic drilling for only short durations and noise will last no longer than a minute.  

Clephan Building lifts

Works are being carried out in the Clephan Building this weekend as part of the Lift Replacement Works. Both lifts will be worked on at the same time, and therefore there will be no lift access in the building this weekend.

Please make alterative access arrangements if you are using the building and need access to the upper floor via the lift.

Access to Lift 2 will resume on the morning of Monday 2 December.
